Deletion is permanent and removes the data for good.
Before you delete anything
- Export what you may need later — reports, statements, and import history cannot be recovered afterward.
- Confirm nobody else still needs it; deletion removes the data for every member, not just you.
- Only an Owner can delete an entity or an organization.
- If an accounting firm sponsors the workspace, closing it happens from the firm side under different rules — see Accounting Firm and Client Access.
Delete an entity
In Settings > Entity Settings, use the Danger Zone. Deleting an entity permanently removes that entity's:
- actuals and import history
- forecasts and schedules
- reports and settings
Delete an organization
In Organization Settings, use the organization-level Danger Zone. This removes the entire workspace and everything inside it — every entity, forecast, report, and setting.
Delete is the last resort
If you only need to stop someone's access, remove that user instead. If you only need to retire a workspace, rename it and leave it in place.
