In Cash Planning, the source of a row determines where you can edit it.
Use this rule:
- edit manual items in the Cash Flow grid
- edit AR / AP timing in the AR / AP tab
- edit recurring items in the Planned Items tab
- review system-generated rows, but do not expect to edit them directly
Source types
- Manual - items entered directly in Cash Planning
- AR / AP - items linked to receivables or payables records
- Recurring - items generated from a recurring rule
- Balance Adjustment - system-generated balancing rows
Edit a manual item
Manual items are edited from the Cash Flow grid.
Open the editor from the small detail line under the item name. That line shows the counterparty, amount, and week for editable manual rows. Clicking it opens the item editor for that row.
The editor lets you change the item's name, counterparty, amount, week, and category. Delete removes the item entirely.
Add a manual item
Use + Add Item in the Cash Flow grid and complete the inline add form. The item appears under the selected receipt or disbursement category and is then editable like any other manual row.
Historical weeks
Historical manual weeks are locked by default so you do not accidentally change settled periods.
If you intentionally need to edit a historical manual item, use Unlock Historical Weeks in the toolbar. That unlock applies only to the current page session. Refreshing the page restores the lock.
Manage AR / AP items in the right place
AR and AP rows in the Cash Flow grid reflect invoices and bills. You do not edit those rows inline.
Go to the AR / AP tab when you need to:
- review open invoices and bills
- change expected settlement timing
- override the expected payment or collection week
- add AR / AP detail manually or import it
Manage recurring items in the right place
Recurring rows come from recurring rules; change them by editing the rule.
Go to the Planned Items tab when you need to change cadence, amount, timing, or category for a recurring cash item.
